Painkiller bitch, pills for puppy, sex pills sample

zomg, today was freakin' busy at my 40-hour site. Normally, it's soooo slow. We'd just stand around and chill. But today, I was pretty much doing something for the whole 7 hours that I was there. Once again, the pharmacist makes me answer all the phonecalls.

For some reason, everyone realizes that they need to call in their refills. Oh wait, I just realize that it's the 28th and ppl are probably low on their drugs haha. But like dude, I filled so many prescriptions for painkiller today. I got so many vicodin and norco, esp. from dentists. What, is everyone getting their teeth done this week? Ah well, at least I know the strengths for vicodin, norco, and tylenol #3 now. (Vicodin = 5/500, Norco = 10/325, Tylenol #3 = 3/300)

Since we're doing a lot of narcs today, there were a lot of bitching. Seriously, just because you're bitching 'bout it doesn't mean that we'll give you your meds, you freakin' addicts. You're just showing us how addicted you are.

And yeah, one lady called in freakin' 9 rxs for her husband and his dog. How cute. A puppy got a prescription hahaha. Its kinda funny. She was like "ok, I need refills fro George. And then I need prescription for Polo" Me (totally not paying attention): what's Polo's last name? Lady: uh...he's a dog... Me: oh ok hahaha [lady, how the hell would I find the dog's freakin' profile]. Ah well, turns out the dog takes the last name of the owner. Still, it's cute. He's getting refills for Lactulose. I guess, he's having poopy problems? hahaha. I told my roommate 'bout this and she said that she had to fill rx for mood-stabilizer for a dog. wtf, the dog is schizo? hahahahaha.

Ok, I should go study for my quiz :-P urgh. Seriously, I enjoy working more than studying.

Oh, when I came in to work, some lady asks me what to take for allergy (she was on the phone w/ someone). I told her to get Loratadine. The person she's getting the drug for has "air allergy" and not like rashy allergy. :-P

One more interesting story. A guy got a sample for a med and he wants us to call doctor for prescription since the med works for him. Guess what the med was for? Cialis. tee hee hee. The med works for him ;-)

Fanime ^_^ and bitch tech

Yeah, this weekend was kinda hectic. Saturday was fun though, 'cause I got to finally go to FanimeCon :-) It was totally awesome. I went as Konata (from Lucky Star), and I got a few ppl stopping me to take pics. Note to self: don't go as someone from Bleach or Naruto or whateve series is really popular in U.S. There'll be a bunch of them hanging around.

The highlights of the con would probably be me scoring a free Lucky Star poster from Bandai. It was awesome. I was just looking at DVDs at the Bandai booth (they have Lucky Star playing on TV too, I might add), and the guy was like "hey, want a Lucky Star poster? here you go." me: V^_^V
Score! Another highlight would probably be meeting Scott, the guy who behind VG Cats! I got him to sign my Leo plushie and even got a pic hahaha.

Well, the fun ends there. Sunday comes, and I have to work. :-P It was a pretty slow day, so I was doing RTS (yet again). Spent maybe a good 1-2 hours putting away drugs. Toward the end of my shift at 6:30PM, everyone started leaving. We're down to one pharmacist, and one tech. The tech decides to take her lunch right then and there. And I was like "uh...I'm leaving in like 5 min." Tech: Yeah, I'm taking lunch. There's like 5 billion prescriptions left to be labeled, and I still have to pour out 560mL of this suspension crap from multiples 120mL bottles. Oh wait, phone starts ringing, and I have to deal with refills. Oh great, I'm also stuck with the a-hole pharmacist who hates interns for some reason.

Yeah, I was supposed to leave at 6:30PM, but I couldn't go until 7PM. Man, I hate those ppl who take their breaks seriously. What happens to "working for the good of the company" or whatever. Ok, fine, you can say that's 'cause I've never worked before. Well, I've worked at a job where I don't even have time to take breaks. Have you tried waitressing? Ok, so you eat lunch during the slow hours. But that slow hour can become not so slow in a second. And sometimes, you leave your lunch sitting there and you wouldn't get to to it for like a few hours. Man, would it hurt that tech to freakin' label the stuff before she goes to lunch? Dude, it would take her less than 5 sec. anyway since they're "so pro" at it. Yeah, I kno I'm a slow labeler, but freakin' program needs to make the labels more user-friendly. At other places I've worked at, the extra labels that you stick on the bottles are right on the edge, so you can grab off the whole strip and stick them on in seconds. But here, the labels are like right in the middle of the freakin' page. Anyhow, my point was "can't you wait an extra 5 min to take your lunch?" or better, "why didn't you fuckin' take your lunch earlier when there was another tech working!" What was she doing earlier? Nothing. Just sitting there reading some magazines. Well, why didn't you take your lunch then? Fuckin' A. Man, I miss the weekday crew. Sure, it's freakin' busy, but ppl are too busy to be such a bitch.

40 hours of free labor

Wow, I haven't posted in ages. Anyway, a lot have happened since then. I passed by 2nd semester (yay!) Now, I'm barely passing 3rd semester :-(

Oh, also, along w/ 3rd semester comes something called "Early Experiential Rotation." It's pretty much 40 hours of free labor at a random community pharmacy. I guess it's kinda nice for ppl who've never worked in the pharmacy before. Well, for those of us, who is currently working, it kinda sucks. I'm already pulling 16 hours a week at my other paying job. Somehow, I have to fit 40 hours into my schedule? Oh btw, I need to do 20 hours before midterms. (Which is in...3 weeks). Yeah, so it was freakin' hectic last week as I was trying to figure out my schedule. Also, the 2 organizations that I'm a part of are both demanding my attention. Man, I might have to quit one of them. I don't want to though, 'cause it seems like I'm betraying the one that I'm quitting.

Anyhow, despite my ranting, I actually learn stuff from the 40 hours of free labor. Now I know how to take phoned-in prescriptions, process phoned-in refills, and do transfer (that, I learn from my paying job, but I think my preceptor would have made me do it anyway). Yeah, the other day, the preceptor told the techs and clerks that I'd be answering all the phone calls. No one is to answer the phone but me. So, I got stuck w/ telling ppl of the hours, whether their prescription is ready, and the actual pharmacy stuff that I was supposed to kno hahah. That's cool though. At least I got over the fear of answering the phone. Dude, I actually answered the phone at my job today. That was really surprising :-O

Oh yeah, I've been playing this game called F.E.A.R. It's freakin' scary as heck. I screamed so many times during the game. Too bad I won't be playing much of it for a while :-(

btw, I think I'm gonna make a pharmacy-related game. I know, it's nerdy as hell, but dude, I love gaming. And hey, why not make it pharmacy-related. That way, I can use pharmacy in what I really like hahahaha.

Hmm...maybe I'll start out by making a sig game for all the poor pre-pharms. Man, I can't believe all those sig abbreviations are like 2nd language to me now. When I was a freshman, I didn't think I would have remembered them all.
